PTK-AK Chapter Spring 2016 College Project

PTK-AK Chapter Spring 2016 College Project:
C4: Creating Character, Constructing Career,”
As Phi Theta Kappa members, we pride ourselves on our academic achievements, with the understanding that good grades alone won’t guarantee success in today’s world. Therefore, we must learn to market our accomplishments as well as our abilities to get the job that will allow us to reach our goals, not just as individuals, but also as a community. Giving back and sharing knowledge are a big part of what we do at Phi Theta Kappa, where we strongly believe in the proverb “A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.”  Based on this principle, we want to assist all students at BMCC to maximize their potential and reach their goals by providing the means to make the transition into the professional arena, as successful as their academics.
Each semester, the Phi Theta Kappa - Alpha Kappa chapter at BMCC chooses and develops a project that best reflects its ideals, and Spring 2016 is not the exception, so we decided to organize an event with all the necessary tools to succeed titled “C4: Creating Character, Constructing Career,” where students will learn about: writing the perfect resume and impressive cover letters, self-promotion and networking, and the opportunity to participate in mock interviews, where they will receive feedback on the DOs and DON’Ts that can “make” or “break” the connection with any interviewer.

She works for some of the largest corporations around the globe, with more than 30,000 hirings during the last year alone, including CFOs and CEOs. Thanks to her expertise and success rate, she ranks in the top 1 percent of recruiters worldwide.  She is Dandan Zhu, Dandan Global’s Founder & CEO, a coaching company focused on helping professionals understand, navigate and leverage the recruitment process to achieve the life and career they envision.
On Wednesday, March 16, Phi Theta Kappa members will meet with Ms. Zhu in preparation for the main event that will take place on Wednesday, May 4th, 2016 at Richard Harris Terrace and will be open for all BMCC students. We encourage you to take advantage of this great opportunity to learn from some of the best advisers available on the recruitment field. So, stay connected, “Like,” and “Share” this post with your fellow students, and hopefully we will meet you then!
