Volunteering Opportunity: College Completion Project Fall 2014 by Michaela Correa

Hey everyone! How has everything been going for you all?
I hope you all enjoyed your holiday!

Well, let’s get right in to this, shall we? Now that everyone is (hopefully) used to your schedules, we here at PTK have a new thing to add to your busy schedules! Luckily, this is a very fun and rewarding extra activity. We have for you, volunteering at a credited High school to help the future generation of BMCC students! This high school is known as Manhattan Early College of Advertising (MECA).

The volunteering opportunity involves Mentoring and Tutoring youths for an hour a day (11-12pm) on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday. You can choose any number of days, whatever fits in to your schedule. The subjects we will be tutoring the students on include: Math, Biology, and Reading/Writing. During the first week we will be meeting at the Icarus statue in front of the school at 10:30-10:40 in order to walk over to the school as it can be a bit hard to find.
The address is: 411 Pearl Street, New York, NY 10038

If you would like more information about this opportunity feel free to come to our meetings every Wednesday from 3-4pm in room N796.
If you would like the get involved, please feel free to contact us and let us know! I would love to see you all there, as this blogger will indeed be volunteering!

Have a great week and please, feel free to reach out!
